"Day After Day"

-Dexx-

We came back home so late that night. I thought it was about midnight. My eyes felt so heavy I can hardly see. Valdan still wheeled me into the room and put me to the bed. He said good night and then left the room. He looks really sad. Maybe it was what Ridan had said to him. I don't really understand what Ridan's trying to say. It's an all-of-a-sudden experience!! I crawled into my bed and buried my head to the pillow.

"Yo.." I looked up. It was Ridan. "You awake??" he looked down and sits on a chair beside my bed.

"Uhh.. Yeah.. Quiet.." I looked at him, forcing my head to stand.

"I'm sorry if I'm waking you up now but, there's something I want to tell you." he looked serious.

"What is it?" I've come to my sense of curiosity again.

"That guy -Charios- do you know what that meant?? Do you know how disasters come and chaos lurks everywhere?? Do you know why and the reasons I forbid you to come near him??"

"Definitely, no.. Tell me.."

" 'Charios' means the one who'll leads the ancient horses, seeking it's glory on former chaos.. That is the true meaning. He have changed a lot ever since then.."

"Ever since when??"

"A long time ago.. When he suddenly turn into a somewhat arrogant person, who thinks himself superior. He listen none of our words no more. He turned himself to the devil.." Ridan shuddered as he speak the words 'devil'.

"Devil.. Who might it be?? There's got to be some reasons for why he'd change.." I tried to convince him.

He shook his head no,"We've been looking for it but none. Not a single-tiny traces nor clues. His files and histories have been burned. Somebody wants him but let none knows.. That's for sure.."

"Can I follow you next time you go to find that file?? Please? I might know something.."

"You may," he smiled a little, "But promise me you won't get yourself hurt or even hurt yourself and don't wander too far from me.."

"Promise for life.."

"Okay.. Be ready next time then. By the way, your clothes there.." he pointed at the shopping bags on the table, "Aren't you gonna get those??"

"Ohh, right. I totally forgot about it--AHH!!" I hurried myself to stand that I don't even realize I couldn't stand without that bracelet or using a wheel chair. I hit the floor smoothly but it hurts, with a large snap of a bone.

"You okay??" Ridan helped me to get up and put me down on the bed.

"Yeah.. Thanks, oww.."

"I'll get it for you.." He left the room and grabs all the bags.

"Thanks. Anyway, you should tell Valdan about this, too. He's very down because of what you've said. Go apologies to him.."

"Yeah. I know. I have to do that or else", his face turned into fear, "You two might get hurt or even been killed by that man. A heartless man."

"Now, whatever", I frowned, "Just go talk to him, said 'I'm sorry', teach him something good, tell him this and that, and everythings done! It's not that hard, right??"

"Maybe" he hesitated, "he's a hard-headed guy. It's not always easy to talk to him.."

"Then break his head.."

"WHATT?!"

"No, not kill him. Just try to keep him calm and all and believe me, everything's cool."

"You're right. I'll give it a try.."

"Now that's better.." I smiled at him. He smiled back.

"Now, you better go to sleep, okay?? You're so tired and sorry to keep you awake.. Night." he apologized and left the room. As he left the room, a little-round and shiny thing fell from his pocket.

'CLIING!'

"Wow, is that yours, Ridan?" I asked him, amazed by that shiny, beautiful locket.

-Ridan-

I dropped the locket that the mysterious woman gave me. Dexx saw it but, I don't think she remembered the whole story back then. I wasn't sure but I'm not going to tell her anyway.

"Yeah.. I got it from a woman. She gave in a hurry but hell, this locket is... Gah, I don't know.. There're some words written on it. It's in a Hertize language. Geez, I don't know and-" I turned around and stare at her. She stared at the locket with blank, white eyes. 

"That is mine. I found it..." she spoke in a different voice.

"What the hell?" I jumped back. Her hand reached the air, it pulled the locket from my hand and into her palm. She held it close. "My people.." she whispered.

-Dexx-

As I walked around the shop, I tried to not look back. Something's lurking behind me. I walked a little bit faster and try to get this thing out of my mind. I shook my head and keep on walking. Valdan still standing beside the wheel chair, calm as usual. For a minute, I calmed down and search for the things I want to (I have to) buy. I picked up some robes, jeans, pants, shirts and a dress. I hurried back to Valdan and gave him all the stuffs I just picked. We went out of the shop. Just as we went out of the shop, my legs were starting to feel faint. I fell at the wheel chair.

"Well, the bracelet won't last long." he sighed and removes the bracelet from my wrist.

"Where to?" I asked him again.

"A friend.." he answered me with a faint smile.

"Who?"

"His name's Archtere. Ridan's old friend. Don't said a word about Archtere in front of Ridan, okay?? He'll keep talking about him and asking us this and that for a looooong time.." he pleaded to me. He's trying to make his face looks like a puppy but it turned out silly.

"Sure. Not even a word." I tried to hide my laughter but can't. I bursted into laughter with him.

We went into the other side of the city and found ourself on a small village. The sun stands high in the sky. My body begans to drop sweat and I feel like burning. Valdan hurried into the village and ran all the way through the end until we reach a dead end. He turned left and spoke something.

"Dres da chambruse shela bree opriense.." he whispered so quietly. The ground around us started to shake but none of the villagers are looking at us nor shaking. Was it just us? I can't imagined it although I'm experiencing it. The dead end turned into a huge garden gate. We entered the gate and it closes right behind us. Beyond us lies a beautiful green pasture with so many flowers and trees. This place is wonderful! It's like Heaven! Mountains covered a quarter of the blue sky. It's not so hot in here not like in the city. The sun's warm light makes me feel calm about it. The lake has a beautiful view and it feels so attracting. So beautiful!

"Here we are!! The 'Land of 7 Wonders'! Cool, eh?" Valdan started the chat again.

"Very cool.. So what do you wanted to do here anyway?"

"Hmm, we'll be visiting Archtere remember?? Sheesh, you forgot it already??" he sighed.

"Oh.. Right.."

"Now, hold on tight. I'm going fast here!" I can see his eyes burning with spirit. Good spirit.

I hold on tight and closed my eyes. He really speeds up! I can feel the wind blowing on my face. He goes all the way down the hill until it reaches another village. It's very peaceful here. We reached the 'Ranz Avenue'. Valdan turn right and went in through the gate. There's a mark on

the gate. It says,-

"-Archtere's Residence.." Valdan mumbled to himself. He smiled as we stopped speeding. There's an old looking house that's looks so sturdy. There, a young man sits on a chair reading some books. He looked up and smiled at Valdan.

"Valdan! Long time no see! How's it goin'? Oh? And who's this lady here??" he stands up as he began to questions Valdan.

"Hold on. Lemme' answer you one by one." he continued, "I'm fine, really. But, yeah, something's been going on lately. This is my step-sister, Dexx. Dexx this is-"

"-Archtere.." I answered him, "Dexx.." I held out my hand. He shook my hand and smiled, "Nice to meet you, Dexx."

"Now, why don't we get into the house, shall we?"

"Sure!" Valdan jumped in.

We went into the house and talk a lot of things. For a moment, I felt so hard to breathe so I went out and look for some fresh air. As I wheeled myself out, somebody bumped on me. He fell back and shouted at me, "Watch it, lady!!" he glared at me.

"Sorry, boy. You watch yourself too.. Hmph." I gave him a cold sneer.

"Ahh, young but have grown into such a strong and independent. Very bold, my friend.."

"Thanks, but that sounds weird. Who the hell are you??"

"Me? Greetings, my name is Charios. A traveller of this world. I wanted to visit my friend, Archtere here. And you are??"

"Call me Dexx. Traveller, huh? Not so interesting.."

"Before that, I was once a man who works for this land but until I was betrayed by my own friends, I left this place and started to travel on my own.."

"Must be hard. Travelling all alone." I sympathize him.

"Yeah, thanks for your concern.."

We talked for a moment. He's a young man. Short guy, brown-skinned. Has black eyes, black hair and black clothes. Wow, man in black, I thought. Valdan started to calling me from the inside.

"Ohh, I better get inside before my brother kill me. You wanna come?"

"Sure."

Valdan opened the door for us and when he saw Charios, he shook his head.

"Is that you, Charios?? You look so.... Black..." he's out of words.

"Haha, thanks. I'll take that as a compliment." he agreed.

"Charios, old friend. Welcome back. Hey, don't think about the past so much or you'll get drown into fate. That's so unwanted, boy.." Archtere joined the others. They laughed together and talked for a long time. I got myself sleepy and then Valdan took me out and said goodbye to both of them. Charios followed behind him. I drove into sleep but still hear a conversation. I heard someone else's footsteps behind bushes. He walked closer to us.

"Isn't getting late, Valdan? Walking out here without telling me and with him?" a low-husky voice called out.

"Why.. are.. you here??" Valdan trembled and let out a small growl on his chest.

"Why're you here?!" he shouted back. He stepped closer and by the scent, he was Ridan.

"Ridan.." Charios spoke up.

Ridan hissed at him.

"Brother, leave him alone. We met in coincidence. Just stop it!!"

Ridan still hissed at Charios. "I'll forbid you from meeting this man again. Too dangerous. There's many that I can't tell you just yet." he whispered at Valdan.

"But let him go.." Valdan pleaded.

"Fine. Leave, Charios. You, who brought us only disasters, do not follow us or even track us down. If you dare, to follow us or even lay a finger on her, you shall be history that no one will ever remember!!"

Charios agreed and then fled into the shadows. He's no longer around.

"Let us go home, brother. Forget him. Forget this ever happened.." Valdan tried to calm him

down.

"Let's.." Ridan could agreed no more. He teleported us back home.

Up on a tree, a little shadow watched over Ridan, Valdan and Dexx.

"So, this is what she meant. Could that be the one?? Why??" the little shadow mumbled to himself and then teleported himself to somewhere far, down the earth and dark.

-Dexx-

I woke up quiet early today. My hands were so cold, everything seems so chilled this morning. I saw Ridan sleeping on a chair in my room. Then, I felt something very different.

Something must've happen last night, I thought for myself.

I looked around. There's no sight of Valdan around. I pulled myself from the bed, trying to get up but I can barely stand. I tried to walk normally but my legs won't move.

There's got to be something that I can use to move around. I don't want to stay in bed for the rest of my life!

I got my eyes on a wheel chair, 4 metres near the bed. I standed clumsyly and try not to fall. I reached for the wheel chair and sit on it. I smiled victoriously then I wheeled out of the bedroom, trying to be quiet as possible not to make any noise. I found myself on a large living room and then I saw Valdan, on the couch, watching TV.

"Morning, sis!!" Valdan seems cheerful but I can sense something terrified him. He looks a bit pale too.

"Morning, Valdan.." I smiled as I wheeled towards him.

"So, you found that old wheel chair huh?? Now, it'll be better for you to move around with that." He told me proudly. Looks like he's the one who found this wheel chair. Not bad.

"Looks like it.."

"You hungry?"

I nodded.

"Let's get to the kitchen. There's some food left inside so let's buy it today. I'm gonna take you to the town square. Don't attract too much attention when you're there, okay? Cos I bet someone, no some people are looking for you."

"Right."

He took me to the kitchen. Like he said, there's not much left inside. We got only some fruits, veggies, Ridan's (the one that his partner gave him the other day) and some milk. Valdan took some fruits and veggies for me (again) and told me to eat it. He dranks some milk and then left the kitchen.

"Stay right there. I'm going to wake up Ridan. What a sleepy head.." he mumbled.

I finished up my fruits and vegetables and then looked around the kitchen. There's a picture of a family: father, mother and their son. Next to it, there's another family picture.

Could it be Ridan's and Valdan's family??

"Morning, Dexx.." Ridan came into the kitchen. He yawned and then grab some of his left-overs and eat them. He, too, had a bit of terror in his face. Same as Valdan.

"Morning.."

"Hey, Ridan, can I take her to the town square? There's something I want to buy there and there's something I need to do and I gotta meet with someone.."

"How can we leave her out of this house unprotected?? That's ridiculous!"

"Wait, there's something I want to show you too. Her wheel chair can activate a protective barrier for her so that no one can keep track of her and the scent of her blood. Convenient, huh? I designed it myself." Valdan grinned at Ridan, who's still look troubled.

"Are you sure? Anything can happen to it.." He seems unsure about the little brother's big idea.

"No worries.. I can set it up anytime, anywhere. Just leave it to me!"

"Okay, but don't attract too much attention there. That's too dangerous for her."

"Calm down. We only got a few things to take care of. When we're done, we'll come home. Promise."

"Fine. I bid my leave too. I've got something to take care of. Bye!"

"Ridan, where are you going??" I tried to reached him but he's gone already.

"Don't worry. He's just doing some work. I know you'll be very lonely but hey, there's me left." he tried to cheer me up. His smile calms me down a bit.

"Yeah, I know. Let's go." I wheeled my chair towards the door.

"WAIT!!" Valdan screamed, hysteriaclly.

"Wha-" Before I can talk, he took me back into the room and then openend up the wardrobe. He picked up some clothes and put it on a chair next to me.

"You can't go around like that. You'll attract others. Ya know, this one might fits you.." he smirked at me and holding a long, dark robe. Very attracting, for me. I nooded in agreement and I realized that I'm only covered in an almost see-through white dress. Why am I wearing a white??

I tried to stand up and grab the robe from Valdan. I went to the bathroom to change while Valdan goes upstairs and change too. I looked at myself in the mirror. Not bad, I thought at myself. I can see myself in the mirror. My long, black hair covered the back of my body. My pale skin looks a little brighter red, blushy, but still as cold as ice. My dark, bluish-purple eyes looks so calm like a pure water. I put on the high-heeled boots I found in the room and then I go back to my wheel chair and wait for Valdan. He came down wearing a jacket and balck pants.

"Ready? By the way, you look nicer than before." he winked at me as he wheeled me through the exit.

I blushed a little and look down, "Thanks, you too..". I looked up at him through my dark hair, he smiled back. Not so long, we've arrived at the town square. Valdan put up the barrier and kept on walking through the crowds.

"Dexx, this is the town square. 'Garden of Onyx', that's what people said. Long ago, this place was full of Onyx, the beautiful black-stone. The view was always gleaming at everynight. That's why, we call it 'Garden of Onyx'."

He keeps on telling me the stories about this place. It's very calm in here. Everyone looks happy with a smile on each faces. So peaceful..

"Oh yeah, let's go to that store over there. I need to buy some food and gotta do a little errand over there." He pointed at the store with a big sign on it: 'Chatelain'. What does that mean anyway??

We went into the shop and then Valdan wrote something on a piece of note, looked around and then keep on writting. He gave the note to the clerk and then he paid him something. The clerk gave him something in return. Is this how the shops work in here??

He turned back to me, "Don't worry. I'm not a drug-dealer nor this is not a black market anyway. I'm not doing some dirty bussines. As you can see, this is how the shops work."

"So what next?" I asked him.

I saw the clerk is looking at us. He looked at me cautiosly. Valdan turned to the clerk and whispered him something like, 'It's okay. She's just an orphant I found in the street from the other day.' The clerk gave him a sighed of relieve and then smiled at me and gave me an apple and said, "Nice to meet you, young lady. Who're you?"

"Thank you, my name's Dexx." I thanked him and smiled.

"Thanks for the good stuff, Newt. Gotta go now, bye!!" Valdan yelled at the clerk as he took of with me and his stuff.

Newt, the clerk, waved good bye at us. I looked back and smiled at him. We went into another shop. This time, it's a clothes shop.

"Time to buy new stuffs for you. I got only one clothes for you and now you buy your own." He told me and then started to wander around. I tried to stand up. Valdan helped and then put me on a small bracelet.

"For your protection, as usual." he winked.

So I looked around. When I looked around, I felt someone's watching me. It couldn't be Valdan. He's watching me but not with this kind of gaze. Cold-stern gaze. It's shivering me out.

"Center of all"

-Valdan-

"Wait a minute, that thing - the core - is on the way. It's blocking the heart's wound. We gotta move it away!" My anger's flood to my head.

"Calm yourself, Valdan." Ridan told me calmly.

"Listen to him, Valdan. You don't know her thoroughly. That wound - she pointed at the wound - is only an emotional scar from her dream. Although the pain become real, it is not a serious wound after all."

She - the woman that repelled me and told us about the core - stepped closer to Dexx. She bowed down and then whispers something in her ear. Whispers or not, it's magic! The wound started to closed up and then Dexx falls back asleep.

"It's only temporary though. It won't last long. Her wound will start to reopen in time. I don't have any remedy for it. And every time it opens, her life will be shorten." She backed away from her and then looked at me, " Keep this charm. My words are the only one who can calm it. When the wound reopened, put it straight to her chest until she calms down. Be careful with that."

She whispered something to herself again and then she was gone. I ran to where she last stood. I talked to myself, " Who are you??"

An unknown voice answers, " You will know who I am, sooner or later.."

"Val, look at this charm..", Ridan opened up that locket. It's a beautiful locket. Inside it, there's full of an ancient words that no one could read, the 'Hertize'.

"Yeah, it's beautiful. Those words.. It calmed her down, huh? I wonder what does it says.."

"I have no idea. Records about the long-lost 'Hertize' are only 'The Ancestors' and 'The Gifts'. Nothing said about reading it anyway.. Crap, I'm totally lost."

"Me too.."

Ridan stayed beside her, still looking on the beautiful locket. I walked out the room and throw myself into the couch. I slept the whole night. Unpeacefully..

-Ridan-

I stayed beside Dexx while looking at the locket. "What does it mean??" I kept thinking about it until a little, bell-like voice, called me.

"Ridan, you there??" Her face looks really pale.

"Yes, sis. What's wrong? Another nightmare??"

"No. I want to tell you something but promise me you won't tell anyone else even Valdan nor your girl. Please, I beg you.."

I sighed - I hope she didn't hear it - and then smiled to her, "Promise."

"Thank you - Her smile looks sad - This is what really happen..." And she told me everything that happen.

"I see. I'm sorry to hear that. I don't think that's the same Angel you know. It looks the same but has different persona, like something made him to turn that way.." I explained it to her.

"I know maybe he wouldn't be with me together until forever, but at least, I..want to be with him a little bit more longer and I wish he stays that way.." Her eyes are welling up. Tears started to ran down through her rossy cheeks.

"Calm down, Dexx. You don't want Valdan to be more worried about this, don't you??" I tried to calm her down with my advice. She looked at me and nodded but still she keeps crying. I hold her hand tightly. Her freezing hand hold mine tighter.

"Don't leave, brother.. Don't ever leave me when I'm alone.. When I need you..", she whispered to me and then fall back to her sleep.

"I can't gurantee that, sister.. But I will do the best as I can to help you.." I keep holding her hand until I, too, fell asleep.

"The Life of Her"

-Valdan-

I stayed up late just to watch her sleep. "Let her be in peace..", I whispered in front of her bed and then stared out of the window. The full-silver moon is shinning brightly. Stars, too, lighting up the dark, black sky. Beautiful, like diamonds. Wish I could get one.. I keep staring out of the window, blankly.

"Yawn, you ain't going to sleep yet?" Ridan asked from behind.

"Hey! Don't startled up people like that. Seriously.. You?"

"Nah, I can't sleep. Something's bothering me while I sleep."

"What is it?"

"A woman voice.. Creepy one.. She told me, 'Watch the core.. Or both of you will die..' Something like that.."

"Sheesh, what was that suppose to mean?"

"No idea.. Maybe she means her.." Ridan pointed to Dexx, who is fallen asleep.

"I guess.. We should watch her.."

"We 'really' should.." And we watched her through the night.

-Dexx-

I dreamed again. Karmen was there, at the same place again. She watched me but I can't see her usual bright hopes in her gleaming eyes. This time, the surroundings looked a bit different. The silver moon turns blood-red and when its light touches the lake, it goes the same colour. Trees and the pastures are dying. Everything turns to the opposite.

"What happened?" I asked Karmen. I watched her carefully.

"..." She stays silent for a long time.

"Karmen?? What's wrong..?" I stepped towards her carefully.

She looked down to the ground and then said, "So here you are, my love.. I will find you to the end of the world and I did it.. I found you." - She looked up, and then her face started to break to pieces. A new face was there. It was 'him'!! His once gleaming, beautiful golden eyes, now turned into a black-sharp eyes with a blood-red part in the middle. - "Finally, you'll get what I want you to get.. YOUR PAIN!!"

After he said those words, he flash-stepped and striked me on the heart. I let out a shriek of pain. He took my lips and kissed it, "You'll know it sooner or later.." He released his knife from my body and tastes the blood from it,"Your blood are mine.." He grinned and then left me. The blood flows out of the wound he made. "I'm so glad it didn't hit the core but -ARGH!!-"

And then I fall to consciousness.

-Ridan-

"URGH!" Dexx was conscious.

"Dexx? What's wrong-" Before I could finish my sentences, blood burst out from her body again. It came directly from her heart.

"WHAT THE HELL?!"

"Look, something come out.." I pointed at the strange-dark things. It looks like a heart but smaller. It grows on her heart and pumps tiny-black substances into her blood.

"We gotta take it out!" Valdan jumped towards her and then, something repelled him.

"Over my dead body!!" - Somebody shrieked - "That's her core, center of her life. You take it away and she's dead. You, too, will be dead.."

"How the--?"

"Her 'Dream' is a reality hidden behind the memories.."

"Dexx"

As night falls, my head is full of dreams. Dreams that I've never dreamed of. It's a strange one. I could never guess from it.

In my dream, I saw someone looking back at me. She looked almost like me but slightly taller and whiter. She had dark-brown eyes and black hair to her shouder. When she talks, her voice sounded like a bell ringing on my ear, playing a beautiful songs. Her face doesn't seem like mine that's hiding all my problems and pain and all, my ugly side.. "Who are you??"

"Dexx, it's me.. Karmen, your ______.. Don't you recognize me??" She came toward me, dancing on the water. We're in front of a lake. The silver moon shines above us, it reflects a glisten light.

"What are you saying?? I can't hear it??"

"Oh dear, you don't remember?? I'm your ______.."

I can't hear what she's trying to say. Her voice got mixed up with something. As I looked back at her, her face looked sad. "Sorry, is this the first time we met??"

"Sheesh, you totally forgot me!! How could you?! Ah, forget it. Dexx, I know you're somewhere out there, keep yourself safe okay? I'm not there watching you. I can only come to your dreams to contact you. It's been a long time since then, we got separated. Someone took you and I was alone there. I had my partner now, though, so I won't be alone anymore. I don't know how you forgot your real name either.. You have to remember it.."

My real name?? I know myself from being born inside a shell and on the wall, my name's written there. It say, "The 'Fallen' one, Dexx".. Okay, I'm freaked out.

"My..real name??"

"Yes, you are ________, the last heir of the __________.. Maybe you couldn't hear that. Something's been troubling you, yes??"

"Yeah, sorry, Karmen.. I truly am."

"I know it will come to this.. Sigh.. My time is short here so I'll be leaving now.. Bye.. Take good care of yourself.. I'll come again soon.."

Then, she ran, dancing on the water again.. The Moon has gone, the Sun is rising up. She was gone in a blink of an eye.. Then I suddenly woke up..

"THUDD!"

"OWW!!"

"Opps.. Sorry, Valdan. I don't know you were there.." I felt so bad for hitting his nose with my hard head.

"Argh.. Yeah.. I know.. Ouch.. Did I woke you up??"

"Nope. Let me help you. Where's Ridan?"

"He has an appointment with his so-called soulmate. He'll be back at dusk."

"Ohh, I see.."

"...."

While I still helping him, I tried to think about Karmen, the girl that came to my dream last night.. It felt so real, I could still smell the same scent of the grass.

"Who is she? What is it that she wanted? Why did she know me? What's my realtionship with her? What happen back then? Separated?" Many questions popped out of my mind.

"What is it, sister?? Something's bothering you??"

"Huh?! Oh, nothing at all.."

"Really?? Then why did you hit my face with your pillow??"

"What? I didn't do ---" Then, I realized my hand was holding my pillow and his face full of feathers from the pillow. Okay, I really hitted him. Maybe when that questions came up, I went mad and kept hiting him like he's a doll.

"Opps, sorry.. So many happens in my dream and I don't know if it's real but it makes me confused and got a little mad to find it out.." I cleaned the feathers from his face.

"What is about?"

"Well, a long story....."

And then, I told him all about the strange dreams. He listened to me carefully, watching my lips moving, creating every words in his ears.

"Karmen.. I think I've heard of her waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back then.. Karmen Selenia, a great magician who wields her spear over thunder and lightning.. She, too, can created rain. There's once that people said she was the gloomiest of all but since her sister have been born, those gloom from her dissapeared as she fell in love with someone. He's still unknown. Then, destruction fell on their Grandfather's land. It was a war. The darkness spreads over countries and killed so many people. They said it was because of the newborn sister, the one that'll wields her abnormal power or gifts over the darkness and all forces of nature. People were saying that she is the cause to this calamity that befell upon their land and has to be gone. When the sister know what the people are trying to do, she left her to someone to protect her and bring her to a safe place. Then, she ran away with her partner and never been seen again.. So long have passed, nobody heards of their family nor the newborn child.. They were already dead at that time.."

As I heard the whole story, my mind's slowly turned around, trying to digest every words from him. "Is it possible or even true, that I might be the newborn child?? But it happens long ago and no one ever saw her nor their families again.."

"Dexx?? What's gotten into you?? You look pale, very pale.."

My stomach rumbled, answering the question.

"Oh, you hungry?? There's some food left on the table.. You haven't eat for awhile. It's almost dusk, y'know.."

I don't realized that the sun is going to set again. So we've been talking for hours since morning. The bright sun gleams, it looks very beautiful. I tried to stand up but then I remembered that I'm still wounded, so I fall back to the bed again.

"Sorry, I can't stand. My wounds will getting worst if I do. Mind getting some of those food for me to eat on bed?? Sorry.."

"Sure. Wait here and don't move too much, okay?? You're still fragile, sis.."

"Hey, I'm alive here and my stomach is hungry. Hehe."

"Oh, right."

Valdan run out from the room and I could hear the banging noise on the outside. "What's he trying to do??" For a few minutes, he's back-holding a tray on his hands full of fruits and fresh vegetables.

"There's only fruits and vegetables left. I can't get you anything else.. Sorry."

"No, it's fine. Better, I mean." I smiled as he put the tray on my laps. He smiled a delightful smile it make me blushes. He laugh at me and I throw him an apple. It hit his nose again.

"Ouch!! You're gonna break it!! My nose.."

"Haha, gotcha!"

He keep laughing while I eat. When I finished eating, he grab the tray and put in on a table. Then, he tells me about wonderful stories and it driven me back to sleep. I heard the door's open. Ridan's home.

"She's sleep again?" he sighed.

"She just slept when you came.. So, what happens?"

"A day with her.. Just wonderful.. Oh yeah, I got you something.. Here."

"Huh? Food? What the?"

"That's from her and she made it for us.. And, she knows about Dexx too.. Well, basiclly, I told her.."

"WHAT?!?! You can't just tell that to other people!! It's a secret!!"

"I trust her. She won't tell to anyone."

"And if she dares??"

"I'll make some decisions with her.."

"Hmph.."

"...."

"Dexx told me she had a wierd dream last night."

"What is it?"

"It's about ....................."

-Running Wild-

"Fallen One"

Ridan and Valdan finally stopped running.. I watch their eyes as if they're searching for someone. And then, I hear a small growl from Valdan's chest. 

"They've found us.." Ridan hissed.

"Gah, we would never make it.."

Then, I see a tall stranger with black cloack around his body. His eyes are crimson red and he has modified arms. Beside him, a girl with blood-red cape hissed at me. Her eyes are black jets and I could see her sharp teeth, stained with blood..

"Ridan, old friend. Who's that child you're taking with? Can you share your snacks with us?" the man asked him..

"NEVER!! And she is not a snack, she's our sister!!" 

"Don't you dare lay a finger on her or I will reduce you to ashes before you can scream!!" Ridan screamed towards him..

The little girl makes her move toward Valdan. Valdan back away and shouted, "Ridan!! We can't stay here any longer!! She's not going to make it!!"

Light falls from the sky. It crushed the tall man and the little girl. They fell down.

"My child, run!! I can't hold them long enough.. Valdan, Ridan, take good care of her.." 

"Thank you, Eve.. We will.." Ridan looked at the sky and smiled gratefully..

"Hurry!! I have open the portal for you.. Jump in there!!

We jumped in there. Valdan looked troubled. He's putting me down on a bed. 

"So the portal leads to our home, huh?? They're gonna find us again.."

"I think not.. Look, Eve made us a barrier. It's a tough one. No one can come in here."

"Wish it to be true.." Valdan sighed and sits on the floor. He released the darkness that surrounds him. He has blue eyes and an ivory skin. His dark-brown hair looks a little spiky. He has a sturdy chest with a jacket wrapped around it. "You are too tall for a little brother", I mumbled.

"Sure does." He smiled at me and I smiled back at him.

Ridan had released the darkness that surrounds him too. His soft eyes is dark-green that looks like an emerald. His white skin looks like snow and his hair is black as the night. He's a bit smaller than Valdan. I wonder why..

"Well, to tell the truth, we are not from the same family, not from the same bloodline.. We got on a same boat back then. It was a war and our family left us.. Ridan was the one who protected me and that's why I called him 'Big Brother'. The date of our birth was also the reason why.." Valdan answered me like he's reading my mind. Wow..

"So, little girl, now that you are one of us, what should we call you??" Ridan gazed at me, looking at my wounds and the reopened scar.

"You can call me 'Dexx', brother.." My low voice answered him.

"Dexx, huh?? Okay, why don't rest and let your wounds healed??"

"Sure, you can leave me.."

Valdan walks out from my room. Ridan followed him behind. So, I sleep again and try to listen to what they're talking.

"She had the same story with us, y'know.. Maybe like me."

"Yeah right. Your girl that deceived you and left you here.. I know that. How did you helped her to become an 'Angel'??"

"I don't remember that part.."

"You're stressed out??"

"Hell no!! I'm just mad..

"A bit different from her story.. She got stressed out.."

"What about you? You got yourself carried out by downfall because of her. Geez, you got her back again now.."

"Hey, that's way behind. You got your own too, right??"

"Not yet.. I'm not going to get her too soon.."

"Whatever you chooses, brother, do it for good too.. Don't let it be the same as the last one.. She sucks.."

"I know.. Thanks.."

"My pleasure... By the way, what will happen to her, now that she is definitely wounded by her 'Nightmare'?? Is she gonna be okay??

"We have to believe in her.. We'll try to help her too."

"Great idea.. Where should we start??"

"We'll start by 'letting her rest'.."

And then, the conversation goes on and on. I'm too tired to listen. My eyes dropped to sleep.

-Dawning Shadows-

The sky is floating up above.. Down below the abyss, where the darkness lurks around, the "fallen" one crawled out her shell..

She tries to embrace the Light but something is amiss..
Someone blocked the Light she wants to embrace..

Feeling sad, she walks around with struggles.. When alone, she remember nothing but the 'Phantom', the nightmare of her life..

She remembered everything that has passed.. The scar inside her heart has been reopened again.. And because of that, blood came out of her body.. Her skin turns red.. Blood bursts everywhere from her.. She fell to the ground.. The Earth catches her.. Mother Earth embrace her..

"My child, what has happened to you?? You're covered in blood.. Are you hurt??" She asked.. Tears sprang from her eyes.. She cannot bare to see one of her child is hurted..

"Don't worry, it's just my old scar.. It's reopened and I can't fix it.. It's okay.. I'll be fine" the 'Fallen' one answered, with a voice that barely people can hear.. So low.. Her eyes turned red because of her blood.. She's dying..

"You are not okay!! You're dying!! Please, let us go back to where you belong.. You're safe with me.. It's okay, you're going to be fine.." She insisted with her sweet voice like a lullaby.. The 'Fallen' one hesitated..

"I'm sorry, I can't.. I don't want to be a burden in here.. Just let me rest and leave me alone.."

"But, my child --"

"Please!! Leave me be.. I just.. want to be alone.."

"Allright.. Call me if you need anything.. Don't hesitate yourself."

"Okay, I won't."

Mother Earths returned.. The 'Fallen' one kept thinking.. "Why did 'Phantom' come?? What did he wants to tell??"

Slowly, shadows from around her creeping toward her like a mist.. They've become interested in her blood..

"Ahh, scent of blood never felt so good like this one.. Is she the one?? A figure from the shadows called.

"It has seems to be the one.. 'The true smith of pain'.."- Other figure come from the shadows- "Who are you, little ones?? And why are you covered with your own blood??" The second figure asked slowly, try to not let the scent of blood bothers him..

"I called myself the 'Fallen' one.. This blood was caused by the nightmare of my life.. My scars reopened and blood burst out of my body.." She answered with her loudest voice but she feel her throat was being tangled with something and her voice become so low..

"I see.. Brother, we shall not devour her.. Her pain.. You know about it too, don't you??" The second figure called.

"Well, then what shall we do with her?? Should we help her or what?" The other one got a little bit mad about his brothers conclusion of not to eat her..

"Then we shall take her with us.. It's safer than here.. No one, no other shadows like us can understand her.. Not even an 'Angel'.."

"An 'Angel'!?Since when an 'Angel' would waste his or her time to come down here, 'Abyss of Underworld' anyway??"

"Her memories are transfered into my mind.. I could feel it.. There's once an 'Angel' that came to her and helped her.. But sadly, he threw her away into deep down here.. The cause is unknown.. Unclear, I might say.. I feel pity for her.. She had my sympathy.."

"Whoa, really?! Grr, that 'Angel' was so stupid.. He's heartless.. I wonder how did he become an 'Angel'.. I'm a good person but never become an 'Angel'.."

"Who knows.. So anyway, shall we take her??"

"Sure, she's our sister now.. I feel pity for you too, my sister.. Don't worry, we'll help you cos now you're one of our family.. Be happy, sis.."

The 'Fallen' one that was there, hearing all of their conversation (she only listened to some, though), feels happy.. Now that she has a family.. With her eyes slowly closed, she answered, "Thank you... Brothers.."

And then she fell asleep..

"She must be very exhausted.. Blood came out of her body, though.. She had to suppresed it.."

"Let's hurry before any shadows finds her.. We'll be doomed too.."

"Yeah.. Let's.."

And then, one of them carried them and the other covering her so that no one can see or scent her.. Not a single drop of blood fell..

The first one, the one that was carrying her, talked to her, "Oh yeah, by the way, my name's Valdan.. I'm the youngest from the two of us.. He's Ridan.. We lived together until now.. Lucky we got a sister now cos I'm getting bored of him.." he chuckled and Ridan rolls his eyes.

I smiled a little and then fell asleep again..

"Your pain has healed a little now with those shadows but it's not done yet.. You are not yet fully healed.. You shall rest.. I'll be watching you, my child.. Sleep peacefully, dear.."

Mother Earth's lullaby voice drove her to sleep.. now with a single smile..

"Thank you.."

Crap.. I'm going to puke..

Uh-huh, like I said, "I'm going to puke"..

True, and argh, I got sick again!!

Dammit, shit happens in life.. And I got that again.. After following all the worst days + this disease (something's not right in my body..) = I got all this problem and all, handling myself from getting too exhausted..

Impatient as ever, I wish it stop.. It hurts and I can't do anything either..

I hope everything goes back to normal.. I don't wanna be a sick person forever.. More importantly, I don't want to be a burden to others..
